Yes. MyGreenPlanet is designed to be flexible and to adapt to your life. You can change your level, adjust your supported projects, or pause your climate plan whenever your situation changes. We believe climate action should empower you, not lock you in. That's why you stay in control and can update your choices over time.

MyGreenPlanet combines climate action funding with social sharing. You don't just fund climate projects equal to your footprint — you can directly share your supported projects and real climate actions on social media, turning personal impact into collective motivation. Climate action becomes visible, social, and contagious.

There is no fixed minimum or maximum amount. MyGreenPlanet is designed to be flexible and to fit different lifestyles and budgets. You decide how far you want to go: you can fund climate projects equal to part of your footprint or go well beyond it by choosing different contribution levels (such as Half, Single, Double, or Triple). You can also adjust your choices over time as your situation or priorities change. This way, climate action remains accessible, personal, and pressure-free — every contribution counts.

The monthly contribution is based on your personal carbon footprint, which we calculate using official data from the German Environment Agency. Our carbon calculator analyses your information in the areas of living, travel, food and shopping and uses it to determine your annual footprint in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents. We use a rate of around €27 per tonne of CO₂ in your footprint. We multiply this rate by your personal footprint – this gives you your individual monthly climate contribution.

MyGreenPlanet has zero tolerance for greenwashing. That's why we assess every partner we offer on our platform according to defined criteria – and we disclose where your money goes. Important: 👉 Most of your contribution is passed on to our project partners. Part of it goes towards purchasing certified emission reductions, and the proportional payment fees are deducted. Our own work is paid for by the partners through a marketing and service fee – more on this below.

MyGreenPlanet receives a marketing and service fee from its project partners. This partner fee is our only source of income and is used as follows: We invest two-thirds of the partner fee in marketing to encourage more people to support climate protection and to increase the reach of the projects. One-third of the partner fee goes towards our services to cover our operational costs. For the most part, this involves further developing the platform, particularly features relating to CO₂ reduction, transparency and impact verification. This ensures that MyGreenPlanet can grow under its own steam.
